Garden of Different Courts, Unjha

Non-ephemeral Garden Courts

The client for this garden design approached us with designing their residential garden, keeping in mind maximum open lawn space to gather and socialize. We kept a significant part of the garden for the lawn while also using negative spaces created, for a series of different uses. These spaces vary in materiality, function, aesthetic appeal, and planting design. Design considerations focus on Small garden design where every inch is utilized to create different outdoor rooms.

Every aspect of these spaces has been meticulously designed, from the selection of durable materials to the placement of long-lasting plantings, ensuring a seamless integration of form and function; with low maintenance garden ensuring retention of the key design elements.

The garden has outdoor seating space created amid the planting while also having a visual connection with the living room. The walking trail from natural material also gives an earthy feeling to the overall appeal. The dry court from the swing court creates a sense of place, which is non-ephemeral while other landscape spaces change with time and season. The corten steel planters with lighting at night have been added as a sculptural element of the garden.
